Just wanted to keep my readers in the loop a little…
I’ve been wanting to start my own url shortening redirection service site since some days ago and because of that, have been brainstorming for a domain for the last 2 days.
Lots of good domains have been snapped up no doubt … but I pressed on. And eventually decided to have a look at Alexa’s top 500 sites for some ideas.
As chance would have it, I came upon StumbleUpon (ranked #301) and then like a lightning bolt, it struck me …
How about StumbleURL.com? I quickly did a check on it and lo and behold, it was available! Couldn’t believe it.
I quickly headed over to my regular domain registrar and grabbed it before it was taken by someone else (yeah … these things happen)
And so …
I’ll be developing on this site for the next 1~2 weeks and when it’s ready, you’ll have a really awesome url shortening site that you can use (i promise). So stay tuned!
P.S What do you think about the domain name? Any ideas? Suggestions? Hit it away …
