Hi - I liked your findings and I have followed up with my own investigation... finding proximity of words to the image the most important - I've published my findings at http://www.searchgap.com/blog/10-factors-affecting-your-image-search-r and also referenced you.

Take care.

Hi Help i have a new web site i have Google add words going etc but still little traffic. Cant find my imags on Google. I think im doing all this wrong just want to get my business going. I was on ebay until they changed to best match now no sales there either went from 200+ sales a week to around 5. Ebay costs to musch so it was not worth it! Any help at all to get on Google would be great. Thanks Connie

hi Rob,

to be honest. I'm not sure at all. Nothing conclusive as yet. Meantime, it's just for aesthetics.

P.S I didn't say the ALT tag has no bearing. I said it's just a minute factor. Big difference.

Stinks to hear that the ALT tag has no bearing on this. Is the same true of the TITLE attribute?
